Founded in Cape Town in 2017 by the Wolf brothers, Lewis and Drew, the practice brings together their experience of working in prominent architecture practices, both locally and in Canada and Chile, to carve out a signature style in the industry.

At Akimbo we believe the success of a project is the result of a collaborative relationship with our clients, maximising the potential of every unique architectural challenge to create their ideal space. We are less interested in trends and would rather let the architecture speak for itself, while facilitating client briefs and getting the most out of budgets. 

Akimbo’s work is characterised by their use of honest materials and a strong sense of detail and spatial arrangement.  We emphasise quiet, minimal design - stripped of the unnecessary, while not compromising on either aesthetics or comfort to create warm and inviting environments. 

Akimbo encapsulates a holistic design approach, balancing both the functionality and the individuality of each project, and creating timeless spaces that are tailored to the site’s resources and the needs of each client.

Akimbo predominantly works on private residential projects, but we also undertake retail and commercial design projects.
